Dear Monica, the old fairy tales, the real ones, before they were made pretty and tidy for weak minds, were very dark indeed - the better to teach life lessons! yes you're right. One of my favourite fairytales is the little mermaid. But NOT the Disney version. The real one, in which she diesat the end. Disney completely misunderstood the tale i think and ruined the beauty of it.
